How we review laser engravers
What we look at
- What it can make – materials each machine can engrave and cut, and how thick, based on the maker’s published specifications.
- Laser type and power – diode, CO2, fiber or infrared, and the optical output power (not just the electrical rating).
- Working area and speed – usable engraving area, maximum speed and any extensions or rotary attachments.
- Safety – enclosure, fire detection, emergency stop, ventilation or air filtration, and what eye protection is needed.
- Software – which software it works with (for example LightBurn or the maker’s own app) and whether it needs an internet connection.
- Real cost – machine price, required add-ons (air assist, rotary, enclosure, fume extraction), shipping, warranty and return window.
Where our information comes from
- Manufacturers’ own product pages, specification sheets, manuals and policies – linked in each article’s sources.
- Our own use of a machine, only when we actually have it. Articles say clearly which is which.
- Safety guidance from recognized bodies for anything about laser classes, fumes and eye protection.
We never invent test results, photos, engraving samples or customer reviews.
Keeping it current
Prices and bundles change often. Every article shows when its facts were last checked, and we re-check key facts at least every 90 days.
Independence
Manufacturers can’t pay for placement. We’ll tell you when a machine that doesn’t pay us is the better choice. See our affiliate disclosure.
